Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Monday visited the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
First Lady’s Media Aide, Busola Kukoyi, made public Obasanjo’s meeting with Mrs Tinubu via her X handle.
Kukoyi, while sharing photographs taken by both Obasanjo and the First Lady, wrote, “Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinubu after receiving the Former President who came felicitating on the Sallah Celebration on Monday 17th June.”
This is coming barely 48 hours after the former president was seen at a public event wearing a cap with President Bola Tinubu’s insignia.
Earlier, a video of Obasanjo wearing a cap branded with Tinubu’s insignia at an event attended by some African dignitaries had gone viral.

Obasanjo and Tinubu are known to belong to different political parties despite being of the Yoruba ethnic stock from the same South-West part of Nigeria.
Recall that during the 2023 presidential election, Obasanjo backed the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi against Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.
Tinubu had Before the election visited Obasanjo at his Abeokuta, Ogun State residence to seek his endorsement, but the former President eventually threw his weight behind Obi.
Obasanjo is known to be a consistent critic of the Tinubu administration’s reform policies.
